We stayed in Hermanus for a few days, enjoying new friends, the surf, and the sleepy neighbourhood owls. Check out our friends Erlo and Lauren who are walking the skeleton coast and capturing their adventures on film! They have EXCITING things ahead.

After the wedding festivities, we made our way back to Joburg, driving through Jeffreys Bay – the “number 1 surf spot in the world”
… and of course it was locked.YES I surfed!Just kidding. This is what I looked like the whole time.Meanwhile my man was ripping it up.My favourite wipe-out picture of all time so far. For the record this girl rocked my socks off though.
smiling for the picture but secretly dreading the waves pounding my board.
The road back to Joburg through the green dessert was short[er] and sweet and hot.
I couldn’t get enough of the animals so we went back to the game reserve one more time and spent the night camping among impalas and hartebeest and zebras. oh my heart.

God is GOOD, and so incredibly creative and awesome. His animals. The long limbs and polka-dots. The stripes and the huge ears.
And most importantly, the blessing of family.
Ma & Pa were blessed to celebrate and remember their 40th wedding anniversary – this 40 sign was providentially in the coffee shop we sat by!Franci, Pa, Johan, Ma, myself and TertiusMa, an artist herself, challenged me to “go wild” and let loose!
“From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There’s far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It’s the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love”
